Loggerhead Shrike
Artist
Carol Allen Anfinsen
Medium
Painting - Acrylic On Panel
Description
One of my favorite birds, the loggerhead shrike is a saucy show off. A cross between a mocking bird and a chickadee in appearance, hIs prominent bandit eye mask and plump white belly make him completely unique. Barnwood frame.

Hi, Carol. You recently commented on the print of my little affenpinscher painting, so I came over and looked at your work. It's stunning! This bird painting here is so beautiful! I have just recently started painting a few birds (most went into the trashcan). Hope someday I can paint them even half as well as you do!

Carol, thank you for your comments on my artwork! You have wonderful work as well! I notice that there is so much energy in the way that you paint. You give life to the plants and animals, and you even get a sense of the weather in the scenes. This little bird looks like he has a lot of spunk! I love how you can see the brushstrokes full of movement when you look at the piece up close, but then when you look at it from far away, it has an equally beautiful bright and blended look.
