Drawing - Pendil On 70# Paper
Description
On Emma's 94th birthday, we celebrated at a local restaurant. I chose to draw Emma from a composite of the photos that were taken that day. I liked her hands clasped for joy in one, and combined it with another where her face was radiant. I added the cake so viewers would know it was her birthday.

Wow. This is outstanding. I am so appreciative of people who can draw. I do not draw well. Beautiful.

Carol, I really admire good drawing skills, and you have them! So many painters these days feel they don't need to have the fundamentals down--that it is all about their feelings or opinions or whatever--but good art is so much more! I love the paintings you've done with color, but under all of them is the drawing. "Emma" is a wonderful drawing of a wonderful event to be celebrated!

This is a touching piece. It is adorable and full of love. You captured Emma's facial expression and body language so convincingly...I can imagine exactly how she must have looked on that day at that moment! The addition of the cake completes the lovely scene.

Oh, how happy Emma looks. The expression, the cake, the dress and the hands, so expertly done.
